Some artists and theorists believe there is really no such thing as abstract art, because everything comes from nature…nature surrounds us and we are nature. But, if we are trying to represent the abstract, such as a thought, a memory, or a distant event as if it were real…in the here and now, I wonder if that is true.
Distortions, fragments, and misinformation of thoughts, myths or memories…this group of work is an effort to consider these abstract issues in a visual manner. Think back to your elementary school days. Do you remember playing post office where one student whispers a statement to another and passes it on and on until finally the last person must declare the statement?
